CHECKLIST WHEN SENDING IN YOUR ENTRY:

Please check that the following have been included with your entry form:

  • A self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your duplicate entry form and /or exhibit tickets.
  • A cheque or money order for the competition entry fee. ($1 Per item entered)
  • Admission tickets if you wish to pre-order (Adults $10, Conc. $5, Family 2 Adults and 3 Children $25) will also be included.
DROP OFF PLACES FOR ENTRY FORMS WITH CASH AND PHOTOGRAPHS:
  • Portarlington Post Office

Please ensure entries are sealed if cash is enclosed.

Accepted entries are subject to the rules and regulations, as well as additional conditions for the Photography Section.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
Visitors to the Bellarine Agricultural Show Photography Exhibition will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite photo. Votes will be counted after 2pm and the prize awarded to the winner at 4pm on Show Day.

Additional Rules of Entry
  1. ENTRY PROCEDURE: use official entry form for photography.
  2. Entries close on Monday February 27th 2017 at 4.30pm. All Photographs must be received by then.
  3. Maximum photo size is 6”x8” or 15cmx22cm. Each entry must consist of no more than one photo i.e. no triptychs etc. please. Due to display and transport difficulties, do not attach separate entries to one mount.
  4. PRESENTATION: No framed, glassed, floated or block-mounted photos will be accepted. Photos may be presented unmounted, mounted (hinged) behind simple matt-board, or attached directly to a matt-board. Maximum mount size is 8”x10” outside edge.
  5. LABELLING REQUIREMENTS: Neatly and directly on the back of each photo, write the section/class number and title of photo.
  6. Photographs, Entry forms and Entry fees may be sent via post to Box 315 Drysdale 3222, or dropped in by hand at the Portarlington Post Office.
  7. Photographs will not be accepted with Art on the Saturday March 11th.
  8. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES: each person may enter up to five photos in each class. School age children are also permitted to enter any of the Open Section classes.
  9. RECEIPT OF EXHIBITS: Photographs being entered are to be included with your entry form.
  10. COLLECTION OF PHOTOS: Pick up your photos at the Tennis Club Rooms between 4pm and 4.30pm on the day. The duplicate entry form we will send you must be produced. If unable to attend, another person may collect your photo by showing the duplicate entry form. Any uncollected photos will not be kept.
  11. PRIZES: All prizes are to be collected from the Tennis Club Rooms, Sunday March 12th, 2016.
  12. CARE: Care will be taken but NO liability will be accepted for loss or damage to exhibits.
  13. EXHIBITORS AGREE: that their photo may be mounted or possibly framed by the organiser for display purposes using such means as tape, glue, or velcro etc. We will endeavor to display all entries subject to display limitations and number of entries. Entrant’s name and description of photo/photographic method used may also be displayed.
  14. THE COMMITTEE: reserves the right to reproduce any works in the media i.e. the press and television.
  15. THE JUDGE: will be selected by the committee.
  16. The judge’s decision will be final.
  17. Photographs previously entered & exhibited in the Bellarine Agricultural Society Photography Section cannot be resubmitted.
  18. The committee reserves the right to reject any work considered to be unsuitable or offensive.
  19. Entrant must be the creator of the photograph, own the copyright and not a professional.

 

Primary Class

Free entry to all students

S1   In Any Theme (Prizes awarded 1st, 2nd & 3rd)

  1. Colour or black and white. (In any theme)
  2. NO PHOTOSHOPPING
  3. On the back of the photo write “S1 – Primary Class”, title of photo, age and school.

 

Secondary Class

Free entry to all students

S2   In Any Theme (Prizes awarded 1st, Placecards for 2nd & 3rd)

  1. Colour or black and white.
  2. NO PHOTOSHOPPING
  3. On the back of the photo write “S2 – Secondary Class”, title of photo, age and school.

 

Open Class

Entry fee: $1 per photograph.

S3   Open Photoshop (Prizes awarded 1st, Placecards for 2nd & 3rd)

  1. Colour or black and white - any theme
  2. On the back of the photo write “S3 – Open Photoshop” and title of photo.

Additional rules for S3 Open Photoshop:

If images are deemed to have any of the following, they must be placed in the S3 - Open Photoshop category:

  • Any layering to adjust elements
  • Any effects that are applied
  • Any cloning

All Post Production and editing of the original image must be the work of the entrant.

S4   Open Not Photoshopped – Any Theme (Prizes awarded 1st, Placecards for 2nd & 3rd)

  1. Colour or black and white (in any theme)
  2. On the back of the photo write “S 4 – Any Theme Not Photoshopped” and title of photo.
  3. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight colour adjustments or the digital equivalents are acceptable.
  4. Cropped photos are eligible.
  5. If our judges see that a photographer has obviously altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it or move it to the appropriate category.

 

Aged Care Class

Free entry to all residents of Aged Care facilities

S5   Aged Care – In Any Theme (Prizes awarded 1st, Placecards for 2nd & 3rd)

  1. Colour or black and white.
  2. On the back of the photo write “S5 – Aged Care”, name of resident’s facility and title of photo.

 

Victorian Agricultural Shows Ltd. (VAS) Class

S6   VAS Ltd Junior Photography Competition
“Spider Web”

  1. Feature must be within a 50km radius of the Bellarine Show.
  2. Exhibitor to be aged under 18 on the day of their local show.
  3. Unframed.
  4. Print no larger than 20cm by 30cm.
  5. Must be mounted (mount no larger than 3cm).
  6. All Regulations on this page to be taken in conjunction with the general Craft & Photography regulations.

S7   VAS Ltd Photography Competition
“Sunrise/Sunset”

  1. Feature must be within a 50km radius of the Bellarine Show.
  2. Unframed.
  3. Print no larger than 20cm by 30cm.
  4. Must be mounted (mount no larger than 3cm).
  5. Professional Photographers are not eligible.
  6. All Regulations on this page to be taken in conjunction with the general Craft & Photography regulations.

STATE FINAL:

1st Prize: Trophy and $70

2nd Prize: $20

3rd Prize: $10

 

VAS Craft & Photography Rules & Regulations.

  1. Each exhibit entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
  2. Professional Photographers are NOT eligible to enter (someone that derives the greater percentage of their income as a photographer).
  3. An exhibit having won at a show will compete at group final. The winning exhibit will then compete in the state final.
  4. An exhibitor may represent only one local show at Group level and one Group at state level.
  5. An Exhibit having won at State Final, is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
  6. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at a Group or State Final level then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
  7. A person will not be permitted to win at more than one Show within the State in any one Show year. Persons not adhering to this rule will be required to forfeit/refund prize money.
  8. All work to have been completed in the last twelve (12) months prior to its entry at a local show day.
  9. An exhibit may only win one Group final in a show season (Spring to Autumn), should the same article be entered again and found to have already won a   Group Final in the same show season the exhibitor must forfeit /refund any and all prizes and will be disqualified from exhibiting for 12 months.
  10. Late entries not accepted.
