CHECKLIST WHEN SENDING IN YOUR ENTRY:

Please check that the following have been included with your entry form:

  • Your entry with the label attached to the back mounting in the top right-hand corner.
  • Your entry form.
  • A cheque or money order for the competition entry fee. ($1 Per item entered)
DROP OFF PLACES FOR ENTRY FORMS WITH CASH AND PHOTOGRAPHS:
  • Portarlington Post Office

Please ensure entries are sealed if cash is enclosed. Accepted entries are subject to the rules and regulations, as well as additional conditions for the Photography Section.


PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
Visitors to the Bellarine Agricultural Show Photography Exhibition will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite photo. Votes will be counted after 2pm and the prize awarded to the winner at 4pm on Show Day.


Additional Rules of Entry
  1. ENTRY PROCEDURE: Use official entry form for photography.
  2. CLOSING DATES: Entries close on WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 26th 2020 at 4.30pm. All Photographs must be received by then.
  3. MAXIMUM PHOTO SIZE: Maximum photo size is 6”x8” (15cm x 22cm). Each entry must be mounted separately on a mount card or matt board.
  4. PRESENTATION: No framed, glassed, floated or block-mounted photos will be accepted. Photos must be securely mounted with matt-board or on a thick black or white card. Maximum mount size is 8”x10” (20cm x 25cm) outside edge.
  5. LABELLING REQUIREMENTS: Download and print the labels from the website for the section you are entering and attach it to the top right corner on the rear of the mount. Make sure that your name is not included on the mount.
  6. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES: Entries may be sent via post to to Box 315 Drysdale 3222, or dropped in by hand at the Portarlington Post Office. Ensure all photographs, entry forms and appropriate fees are included together in the one envelope. Please note photographs will not be accepted with Handcrafts on the Saturday March 7th.
  7. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES: each person may enter up to five photos in each class. School age children are also permitted to enter any of the Open Classes.
  8. RECEIPT OF EXHIBITS: Photographs being entered are to be included with your entry form and entry fees.
  9. COLLECTION OF PHOTOS: Photographs are to be collected from the Netball Rooms between 4pm and 4.30pm on Show Day. If unable to attend, nominate the person collecting your photo on your entry form. Any uncollected photos will not be kept.
  10. PRIZES: All prizes are to be collected at the same time as the photographs, from the Netball Rooms on Show Day. Sunday March 8th, 2020.
  11. CARE: Care will be taken but NO liability will be accepted for loss or damage to exhibits.
  12. DISPLAY: Entrants agree that their name and image title will be displayed on the front of the image when exhibited.
  13. MEDIA: The committee reserves the right to reproduce any works in the media i.e. the press and television.
  14. JUDGING: The judge will be selected by the committee. The judge's decision will be final.
  15. Photographs previously entered & exhibited in the Bellarine Agricultural Society Photography Section cannot be resubmitted.
  16. The committee reserves the right to reject any work considered to be unsuitable or offensive.
  17. Entrant must be the creator of the photograph, own the copyright and not a professional.

 

S1 PRIMARY CLASS (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded 1st, 2nd & 3rd

Free entry to all students

  1. Colour or black and white, in any theme.
  2. NO PHOTOSHOPPING.
  3. Please attach a completed label to the back of your mounted photograph in the top right hand corner.


S2 SECONDARY CLASS (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Free entry to all students

  1. Colour or black and white.
  2. NO PHOTOSHOPPING.
  3. Please attach a completed label to the back of your mounted photograph in the top right hand corner.

 

S3 OPEN CLASS - Photoshop (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Entry fee: $1 per photograph.

  1. Colour or black and white, in any theme.
  2. Please attach a completed label to the back of your mounted photograph in the top right hand corner.
  3. If images are deemed to have any of the following, they must be placed in the S3 - Open Photoshop category:
  • Any layering to adjust elements
  • Any effects that are applied
  • Any cloning

All Post Production and editing of the original image must be the work of the entrant.


S4 OPEN CLASS - Not Photoshopped (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Entry fee: $1 per photograph.

  1. Colour or black and white, in any theme.
  2. Please attach a completed label to the back of your mounted photograph in the top right hand corner.
  3. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight colour adjustments or the digital equivalents are acceptable.
  4. Cropped photos are eligible.
  5. If our judges see that a photographer has obviously altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it or move it to the appropriate category.

 

S5 AGED CARE CLASS (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Free entry to all residents of Aged Care facilities

  1. Colour or black and white.
  2. Please attach a completed label to the back of your mounted photograph in the top right hand corner.

 

Victorian Agricultural Shows Ltd. (VAS) Class

S6 VAS Ltd Junior Photography Competition
“A Photo Featuring Water”

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Entry fee: $1 per photograph.

  1. Exhibitor to be aged under 18 on the day of the Bellarine Show.
  2. Unframed.
  3. Print no larger than 20cm by 30cm.
  4. Must be mounted on thick card (mount no larger than 3cm).
  5. Each exhibit entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
  6. Professional Photographers are NOT eligible to enter (someone that derives the greater percentage of their income as a photographer)
  7. All work to have been completed in the last twelve (12) months prior to its entry at show day.
  8. The competition follows the three levels of competition: Local Show Level (Bellarine Show), Group Level (TBA) and a State Final (Royal Melbourne Show).
  9. An exhibit having won at a Show Level (Bellarine Show) will compete at the 2020 group final. The winning exhibit at the group final will then compete in the State final at the 2020 Royal Melbourne Show.
  10. An exhibitor having won at Show Level (Bellarine Show) is not elegible to enter the VAS photography competition at any other show until after the final group judging.
  11. An exhibitior is only eligible to represnt one group in the state final.
  12. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at a Group or State Final level then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
  13. A exhibit having won at state final is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
  14. If an exhibitor is found to have won more than one group final, the exhibitor must forfeit /refund any and all prizes and will be disqualified from exhibiting for 12 months.

BELLARINE WINNER QUALIFIES FOR JUDGING IN SOUTH WEST REGION - THEN FINALS AT ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW 2020

STATE FINAL:

1st Prize: Trophy and $30

S7 VAS Ltd Photography Competition
