CHECKLIST WHEN SENDING IN YOUR ENTRY:

Please check that the following have been included with your entry form:

  • Label placed on top left hand corner on back of mounting.
  • Entry form included.
  • Direct debit prior or cash on day, for the competition entry fee. ($1 Per item entered)
DROP OFF PLACES FOR ENTRY FORMS WITH CASH AND PHOTOGRAPHS:
  • Springdale Community Centre, High Street Drysdale

Please ensure entries are sealed if cash is enclosed. Accepted entries are subject to the rules and regulations, as well as additional conditions for the Photography Section.


PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
Visitors to the Bellarine Agricultural Show Photography Exhibition will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite photo. Votes will be counted after 2pm and the prize awarded to the winner at 3pm on Show Day.


Additional Rules of Entry
  1. ENTRY PROCEDURE: Use official entry form for photography.
  2. CLOSING DATES: Entries close on FRIDAY, 23 FEBRUARY at 4.30pm. All Photographs must be received by then. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. PHOTO SIZE: All photos to measure 6" x 8" (15cm x 20cm)
  4. PRESENTATION: Photos must be presented securely mounted with matt board or on a thick black or white card. Mount size is to be 8”x10” (20cm x 25cm) outside edge. Framed prints will not be accepted.
  5. LABELLING REQUIREMENTS: Print the labels from the website for the section you are entering and attach it to the top left corner on the rear of the mount. Make sure that your name is not included on the mount.
  6. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES: Entries to be dropped off at Springdale Community Centre. Ensure all photographs, entry forms and appropriate fees are included together in the one envelope.
  7. Please note photographs will not able to be accepted with Handcrafts on the Saturday March 11th.
  8. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES: each person may enter up to five photos in each class. School age children are also permitted to enter any of the Open Classes.
  9. RECEIPT OF EXHIBITS: Photographs being entered are to be included with your entry form and entry fees.
  10. COLLECTION OF PHOTOS: Photographs are to be collected from the Netball Rooms between 4pm and 4.30pm on Show Day. If unable to attend, nominate the person collecting your photo on your entry form. Any uncollected photos will not be kept.
  11. PRIZES: All prizes are to be collected at the same time as the photographs, from the Netball Rooms on Show Day. Sunday 10 March 2024.
  12. CARE: Care will be taken but NO liability will be accepted for loss or damage to exhibits.
  13. DISPLAY: Entrant agress that their name and image itile will be displayed on the front of the image when exhibited.
  14. MEDIA: The committee reserves the right to reproduce any works in the media i.e. the press and television.
  15. JUDGING: The judge will be selected by the committee. The judge's decision will be final.
  16. Photographs previously entered & exhibited in the Bellarine Agricultural Society Photography Section cannot be resubmitted.
  17. The committee reserves the right to reject any work considered to be unsuitable, offensive or not to the sizing requirements.
  18. Entrant must be the creator of the photograph, own the copyright and not a professional.

 

S1 Primary Class (Any Theme)

S2 Secondary Class (Any Theme)

Prizes awarded First, with place cards for Second & Third

Free entry to all students

  1. Colour or black and white, in any theme.
  2. Print the label from the website, complete and attach to the top left corner on the back of the image mount.

S3 Landscape/Seascape

Prizes awarded First, with place cards for Second & Third

Entry Fee: $1 per photograph

  1. Colour or black and white.
  2. Print the label from the website, complete and attach to the top left corner on the back of the image mount.

S4 Rural Environment

Photographs must represent our rural/farming environment

Prizes awarded First, with place cards for Second & Third

Entry Fee: $1 per photograph

  1. Colour or black and white, in any theme featuring the rural environment.
  2. Print the label from the website, complete and attach to the top left corner on the back of the image mount.

S5 Monocrome

Prizes awarded First, with place cards for Second & Third

Entry Fee: $1 per photograph

  1. Colour or black and white or in varying tines of only one colour.
  2. Print the label from the website, complete and attach to the top left corner on the back of the image mount.

S6 VAS Ltd Junior Photography Competition

"Animal/s in Action"

Prizes awarded 1st, with place cards for 2nd & 3rd

Entry fee: $1 per photograph.

  1. Exhibitor to be aged under 18 on the day of the Bellarine Show.
  2. Unframed.
  3. Print no larger than 20cm by 30cm.
  4. Must be mounted on thick card (mount no larger than 3cm).
  5. Professional are not eligible, which is defined as someone that works professionally or derives the greater percentage of their income in that craft, art form or technique.
  6. Each exhibit entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
  7. All work to have been completed in the last twelve (12) months prior to its entry at show day.
  8. The competition follows the three levels of competition: Local Show Level, Group Level and a State Final.
  9. An exhibit having won at a Show Level (Bellarine Show) will compete at the 2024 group final. The winning exhibit at the group final will then compete in the State final at the 2024 Melbourne Royal Show.
  10. An exhibitor having won at Show Level (Bellarine Show) is not elegible to enter the VAS photography competition at any other show until after the final group judging.
  11. An exhibitior is only eligible to represnt one group in the state final.
  12. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at a Group or State Final level then the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
  13. A exhibit having won at state final is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
  14. If an exhibitor is found to have won more than one group final, the exhibitor must forfeit /refund any and all prizes and will be disqualified from exhibiting for 12 months.

BELLARINE WINNER QUALIFIES FOR JUDGING IN SOUTH WEST REGION - THEN FINALS AT MELBOURNE ROYAL SHOW 2024

STATE FINAL:

1st Prize: Trophy and $30

2nd Prize: $15

S9 VAS Ltd Photography Competition
